Staying Positive

IMG_8925.jpg

It is exactly one month since we’ve been quarantined here in Brooklyn. New York is quiet. Eerily so. Only the nightly 7pm cheers to applaud the cities brave women and men fighting the virus on the frontline break the silence. This is the only time I’ll see my neighbors. They hang out their windows banging pots and pans and cheer from rooftops in a heartwarming cacophony of sound.

Life has been reimagined and redesigned by an invisible force that has shaped our new “normal” around the globe. With all the tragic stories we are hearing it may seem strange to talk about trying to remain positive, yet staying positive needs to be in our survival kit. It is one of the most important things we can do to successfully cope with a crisis. Positive emotions actually undo the negative effects of stress. So, find the joy in the smallest things, strengthen your connections, see the good in others. I'll be discussing this in more detail on my Facebook live chat later today (April 17th).

Stay well!
