Robin Trower and Sari Schor joined forces to record the #1 Billboard Blues charting album, Joyful Sky. Always receptive to singers who can elevate his emotive guitar touch, Robin heard a quality in the smoky power of the acclaimed New Yorker that made him want to tear down and rebuild his songcraft around her.
“I’ve worked with some great vocalists over the years but Sari is dynamite, just an absolute knockout,” reflects Trower. “This album really pushed me, made me write in different keys and arrange songs for her voice. I went more down the R&B route this time, because I knew she’d be great with that flavour. But the blues still underpins everything I do – and there’s definitely elements from my ’70s stuff in this new album.”

The New Revolution honors Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his dream to advance civil rights through nonviolence. I'm grateful that Dr. King's work continues today through the Black Lives Matter movement. It's time to acknowledge the struggle endured by Black Americans throughout our nation’s history and honor the legacies of the Civil Rights trailblazers who fought for a better America.
Recorded at blues'n'jazz Rapperswil-Jona 2019 here is Sari Schorr's take on Willie Dixon's, "I Just Want to Make Love to You" taken from the new album 'Live in Europe.' The breathtaking 12-track live album features highlights from shows in London, Suffolk and Rapperswil, Switzerland.
Bio.
US chart-topping New York singer-songwriter Sari Schorr sets herself apart with a five‐octave range and a voice that is described as the greatest of her generation. From her humble beginnings, working the music scene in the legendary fierce South Bronx of New York, to performances at Carnegie Hall, Montreaux Jazz Festival, and international tours—Sari uses music as a timeless force to unify people. Sari believes that art and culture are beacons of freedom, empowering us to embrace our differences and stand together.
Bursting onto the Blues-Rock scene with her debut album, A Force of Nature, produced by British blues pioneer Mike Vernon, Sari quickly earned a reputation for raw, authentic artistry. Sari was inducted into the New York Blues Hall of Fame, solidifying her reputation as one of the most influential artists in the blues-rock genre.
One of the crown jewels of her career is the #1 album Joyful Sky, which she created with blues legend Robin Trower. Reflecting on their collaboration, Trower remarked, “I've worked with some great vocalists over the years, but working with Sari Schorr and her expressive vocal range has inspired me to write a new album just for her voice.”
From being a first responder after 9/11 and volunteering after the Haiti earthquake to doing humanitarian work in India, Sari’s life experiences—both heartbreaking and inspiring—have deepened her resilience. Her lyrics speak boldly on issues like gun control, racism, and personal survival, turning every word into a call for unity and genuine expression. Sari’s trailblazing spirit is a testament to her belief that, through music, we’re all one people.
Offstage, Sari is a long-distance cyclist, marathon runner, and animal rights advocate. Sari calls Brooklyn her home with her husband and rescued pit bull, Prudence.

“Her gently frayed mezzo, at times reminiscent of Janis Joplin, packs quite a punch. And, like Joplin, she’s not afraid to push her voice to lung-bursting limits…With charismatic vocals set against hard-driving blues-rock, Sari Schorr’s A Force of Nature is exactly that…the blues world at large—should take note."
— Living Blues
“The evening had everything, head-spinnig blues rock vocals, jazzy and soulful vocals…underpinned by a tight rhythm section. Soaked with influences from the great pioneers of the blues…Beth Hart & Robert Plant style vocals with the energy and stage command of Tina Turner.”
